“Eternals explores the very creation of the Marvel Universe itself,” states Marvel Studios president and film producer Kevin Feige in a brand new featurette, above, for Marvel Studios’ Eternals, before concluding, “The impact the Eternals will have on the MCU will be nothing less than redefining the cinematic universe entirely.”
The third film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Four arrives in theaters on November 5. Directed by Academy Award-winner Chloé Zhao, Eternals welcomes a welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe—the Eternals. “The film also deals very much with the aftermath of [Avengers: Endgame] and the state the world is in,” adds producer Nate Moore.
Describing the team’s make-up, Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi, explains, “Five of the Eternals are more of the thinkers, and the other five are the stronger fighters.” The thinkers are made up of Sprite, Druig, Ajak, Sersi, and Phastos, while the fighters are Gilgamesh, Kingo, Ikaris, Thena, and Makkari.
“Eternals are these remarkably super-powered characters, but also a dysfunctional family unit,” continues Feige, “The person to bring that together was Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao.”
“We go on these emotional journeys with these Eternals to figure out who they are and what it means to be human,” shares director Chloé Zhao.
Talking about the film, Angelina Jolie, who plays Thena, describes, “A lot of people are gonna see themselves as super heroes for the first time,” with Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo, exclaiming, “Everybody looks different. Everybody sounds different.
